Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) on October 2nd, 2014, the 145th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The ambitious programme aims to make the streets, roads and infrastructure across the country clean. It is India’s biggest ever cleanliness drive.

Prayas Trust is playing a very crucial role in the promotion of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. We work in direct contact with the local people. Keeping the city clean is everyone’s duty and to ensure that people are made aware of this civic duty. We are ensuring the success of this cleanliness mission in the following ways:-

• We took up the task of educating the local mass making them aware of the need to keep their surrounding clean.
• We even visit schools to teach the children the importance of cleanliness.
• We are also facilitating workshops on how to recycle and reuse non-biodegradable wastes into livelihood programs.
• We are time to time conducting research on specific areas to specifically dispose waters, improved toilets, improved composting processes and many more.
• We took the task to set up waste management systems and monitor the same.
